Question:
Why did we start Paws For Seniors?

Answer: Because of Senior Dogs and Cats like Daiquiri whom in her golden years found herself without a home. We knew we needed to step up and help. We hope you find this as inspirational as we do.

Daiquiri’s Story

As a puppy, Daiquiri found herself lost in the woods, dumped off and forgotten. Luckily she found a family walking in the woods and ran up to them. This was her lucky day. The family took her home and she began her new life as their loving family dog.

Daiquiri's life has not always been easy. She found herself fighting cancer twice! The last time was 10 years ago. As a cancer survivor, she has rewarded the family with adoration and kisses. Two years ago, Daiquiri began to lose her hearing. Today, she is deaf.

In March, 2011 at the age of 19 years old, Daiquiri was displaced from the only family she knew. When Daiquiri became a foster of Brenda & Jim, founders of Paws For Seniors, her nails were so long they were embedded in the pads of her feet. She constantly shook her head because her ears were infected and full of ear gunk.  We trimmed her nails, got the infected ears under control and started her on a high quality food diet.

Today, she is thriving!  She is always ready to show how happy she is with enthusiastic tail wags and happy dances.  She will remain a Paws For Seniors “Sanctuary” Dog and we will give her the best quality of care.

March 2012 marked her 20th birthday.  We invite you to celebrate with her. Please help her with her birthday wish, help us help senior dogs and cats in need.

We formed Daiquiri’s Fund to help Senior Dogs and Cats that find themselves without a home or loving family in their golden years! Help us help these elder paws face the remaining days on this great earth with DIGNITY!
